Back to School | Design for Kids

It's that time of year again... The smell of freshly sharpened pencils fills the air and life seems to get a little more hectic for most people. Children's lives seem to get busier and busier from sports practices to piano lessons it feels like there is less time in the day for them to be exactly what they are, kids. So in an effort to add a little bit of fun into the lives of children, we are rounding up our top five fun inspired pieces for kids.

1 | To start us off we love the Mya Lin Child's Stone which can be found at Knoll. This is the perfect piece for either indoor or out. They would work well in a child's bedroom as a place to sit and draw and serve as a step stool to reach higher places. We especially love all of the bright colors this piece is offered in!

2 | The Land of Nod is now carrying a line of Charley Harper designs - and who doesn't love a lively and wildlife inspired Charley Harper design! This rug from The Land of Nod would be a statement piece in any room (and we're not just talking kiddos!) This rug is charming and would work wonderfully in either a boy or girls space.

3 | Number three on our list is one of the most unique pieces I have come across in a long time. Anthropologie has one of the coolest night lights around - it's shaped like a pineapple and when it's not lit feels elegant and sophisticate while remaining fun and quirky.

4 | We have long been a fan of Eero Arnio's Magis Puppy. Not only is this hunk of plastic beautiful to look at but it beats any rocking horse we've ever seen. You can find this playful seat at the Herman Miller shop!

5 | Last on our list is something that may not have been originally thought of for kids - but we think that these gorgeous hand painted animal pillows by John Robshaw would work magically in just about any space dedicated to kids. The colors are vibrant and fun and could help spark a wide range of imaginations.
